Introduction

This website contains data for more than 500 public four-year colleges and universities in the U.S.  Although the data are presented for primarily public institutions, some data - notably faculty awards and memberships - also cover private universities and colleges.

The data in this website are included because there does not appear to be any other source for collective data on faculty awards or memberships for U.S. public and private 4-year colleges and universities.  The data on faculty awards and memberships are collected and tabulated by the University System of Maryland Office from various sources.

The files are in either Microsoft Excel (Excel 2002) or Microsoft Access (Access 2002) format.  Only the Excel files contain data on private institutions.  The data will be updated periodically.
